Kutztown Radio Show - Spring and Fall 2025

Two turntables caught my eye:
No. 6 = Thorens TD124 in an Ortofon ST104-style plinth + SME 3009 (non-improved) with a bakelite head shell
No. 12 = Sony PS 2250 direct drive turntable + Audio Technica ATP12T tonearm

Friends from audio forums and Instagram

L to R: Phil, John, KC, me and Mark of Blueglow Electronics fame

L to R: Phil, Jonas, me, Mark and (a shorter) John 😉

It was a pretty cold and rainy late spring day with lots of buyers!

Canon P + Canon 35mm f2.8 lens

This was my main score of the day. After careful manipulation of the mechanism + a few drops of Naptha, I was able to revive the Canon P's shutter. Click here to see pics taken by the camera + lens.

Lots of interesting pieces at this show:
No. 4 = General Electric A1-401, the later version of the A1-400
No. 7 = Western Electric KS-16608-L1, essentially a Williamson circuit with 12AU7s + 6L6GCs
No. 8 = Western Electric KS12046-L1 cabinet containing a KS-14703 8" driver aka Altec 755A👍
No. 9 = recent production "B stock" Western Electric 300Bs for $150/each
No. 10 = Rek O Kut L34 + Gray Research 108C; the seller recognized me 😊
No. 11 = NAD 3020A, a classic!
No. 14 = large format Altec + JBL horns

A fun JVC + Cerwin Vega setup!

No pictures this time around but a couple of folks who've visited the blog said hello. It was nice to meet you, Frank and Jeff! I also had a nice long chat with Max with whom I've exchanged emails dating back to my old website. See you again soon, Kevin, Lar, Paul and Phil! Finally, I got to catch up and talk shop with my buddy from New England, Charles!

Comparatively more sellers than buyers this time around, which was probably why I got to pair up my GE A1-400 even if I wasn't looking for one.😉

It's a lot more fun to travel with my co-pilot.😊 We treated ourselves to a nice dinner after the show!🍻👍
